Urgent Appointments

Dr. Thornton-Bott runs regular clinics for both Fractures and Elective patients including urgent access appointments to enable swift access to managed care or treatment when suffering from a painful, often unexpected and/or debilitating injury. You can be seen whether you are a Public or a Private patient, there can be a charge for these appointments.

Special appointments are kept for patients who need to be seen urgently for hip and knee injuries or fractures. X-ray’s, MRI’s and other tests can be requested on an urgent basis.

If you have been to ED and been informed that you need orthopaedic management, have been told by your GP that you need urgent attention, have a painful hip or knee that is suddenly worse or have had an injury during a sporting or recreational activity and therefore require an urgent appointment please contact the Practice on

You will be seen promptly with the intention of seeing you back to work or back into sport as soon as is possible.

To receive the Medicare rebate for the consultation, you will need a referral from your GP, Emergency Department doctor or another specialist. If you are in the Emergency Department, I can be contacted directly by the ED Department at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital whether I am on-call or not, please discuss with your treating doctor in ED.

In my Private rooms I still offer a few Bulk Billed appointments, but these fill quickly.
